RULES OF THE BLACK DOG SOCIETY ARE, AS FOLLOWS:
  • Participants must have current vaccination status. (County Ordinance)
  • Society members must be accompanied by a human escort.
  • Society member must be restrained (on a leash).
  • Human escort is responsible for member's discharge. (County Ordinance)
  • Society member must not be "in season". This applies only to gatherings or events where Society member is around other Society members.
  • Non-Canine membership is welcome.
  • Certificates of membership will be awarded.
Black Dog Society is a non-profit organization with the purposes of educating the community about "black dog syndrome", encouraging the adoption of black dogs, and providing fellowship for the citizens of South Walton County and their dogs, while benefitting the Alaqua Animal Refuge. The Society is hoping everyone will invite their family, friends, and especially their canine friends to come and be a part of this worthwhile organization.
